Elvis Costello
Elvis Costello emerged from London's pub rock scene in 1977, quickly establishing himself as one of new wave's most literate songwriters. His debut album "My Aim Is True" introduced his sharp, cynical wordplay and genre-hopping approach that would span punk, pop, country, and soul. Costello collaborated with producer Nick Lowe and backing band The Attractions through the late 1970s and early 1980s, releasing acclaimed albums including "This Year's Model" and "Armed Forces." His versatility led him to explore country music on "Almost Blue" and sophisticated pop on "Imperial Bedroom."
