The Blue Nile

The Blue Nile formed in Glasgow in 1981 and became known for their atmospheric, meticulously crafted pop music. Their debut album "A Walk Across the Rooftops" (1984) took years to complete and established their sophisticated sound built around synthesizers and Paul Buchanan's understated vocals. The band's perfectionism meant they released only four studio albums across three decades, with "Hats" (1989) considered their creative peak.
