The Stooges
The Stooges formed in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1967, with Iggy Pop on vocals, Ron and Scott Asheton on guitar and drums, and Dave Alexander on bass. Their raw, aggressive sound on albums like "The Stooges" and "Fun House" had limited commercial success initially but profoundly influenced punk rock. After disbanding in 1974, the album "Raw Power" and songs like "Search and Destroy" gained recognition as proto-punk essentials.
