The Trammps formed in Philadelphia in 1972, becoming one of the key acts in the disco movement. The group's powerful blend of soul and dance music produced their signature song "Disco Inferno," which gained renewed popularity after appearing on the "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack in 1977. The song became their biggest hit and a disco standard.
