Feargal Sharkey first gained fame as the distinctive voice of Northern Irish punk-pop band The Undertones before launching his solo career in 1984. The former Derry frontman achieved his biggest solo success with "A Good Heart" in 1985, which topped the UK charts. Written by Maria McKee, the song showcased Sharkey's emotive, trembling vocal style that made him instantly recognizable.
