The Boomtown Rats
The Boomtown Rats' "I Don't Like Mondays" video brought the song's dark subject matter to life through stark, dramatic imagery that reflected the real-world tragedy inspiring Bob Geldof's lyrics. The 1979 clip stands as an early example of how punk and new wave videos tackled serious social issues with unflinching directness.
