The Cardigans

The Cardigans formed in Jönköping, Sweden in 1992, initially playing a retro-influenced pop sound with lounge and jazz elements. The band achieved international success with "Lovefool" from their 1996 album "First Band on the Moon." Their later work, particularly "Gran Turismo" (1998) and "Long Gone Before Daylight" (2003), explored darker, more rock-oriented territories while maintaining singer Nina Persson's distinctive vocals.
